As part of strengthening coordination capacity of government in programming to improve the lives of vulnerable children, the lead consultant, Kandi’s Ndifreke Mbaba, facilitated by Center for Clinical Care and Clinical Research Nigeria (CCCRN)’s ICHSSA 1 project, provided technical guidance and led the process of co-creation, with the government ministries departments and agencies (MDAs), children representatives, NGOs and other stakeholders, of the Akwa Ibom State Vulnerable Children Strategic Plan (2023-2028). This key document would guide implementation of vulnerable children programs as well as improve on coordination of such programs by the State, thus enhancing outcomes for the beneficiaries. The Strategic Plan was presented and received by the leadership of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria on 25 May 2023, two days before the national Children’s Day celebration.
